The news conference will take place at the CAIR-Texas office at 5445 Almeda Road, Suite 301 (3rd floor), Houston, TX 77004.

“American Muslims condemn the violent actions and religious extremism of ISIS and reject the false claim that it in any way represents mainstream Islamic thought or practice,” said CAIR-Texas, Houston Executive Director Mustafaa Carroll. “Their actions are inhumane and morally repugnant.”

“ISIS is a terrorist organization that was emboldened in large part from the terrorism perpetuated by the Assad regime. To combat ISIS, we must also combat Assad,” said Shiyam Galyon, President of the Syrian American Council’s Houston chapter.
