Screening of “Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think”

billionAfter September 11 many Americans became aware that they knew almost nothing about Muslims or Islam, and that they didn’t know what Muslims really thought or felt about America and the West.  “Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think” is a documentary film that explores the expertly gathered opinions of Muslims around the globe as revealed in the world’s first major opinion poll, conducted by Gallup, the pre-eminent polling organization.  The poll has become a window into the hearts and minds of ordinary Muslims across the world, a way to understand what they think and why.  The film provides missing answers and statistics, gathered and analyzed by professional researchers. The film screening is sponsored by the Northwoods Presbyterian Church and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The screening will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 7 pm at Northwoods Presbyterian Church at  3320 FM 1960 W, Houston, TX 77068.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion including questions and answers.  The panel will consist of:

Sam Dunning, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston

Rabbi Steven Gross, Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism

Saadia Faruqi, interfaith activist and speaker

Ruth Nasrullah, Communications Coordinator, CAIR-TX

Mustafaa Carroll, Executive Director, CAIR-TX
