(HOUSTON, TX 8/28/14) – On Monday, September 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. a coalition of civil rights activists will unite to educate the community about the plight of children in occupied Palestine. Organizations to be represented include the Black Heritage Society, Houston office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Houstonians for Peace, and Students for Justice in Palestine. The event will be held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Plaza in MacGregor Park at 5225 Calhoun Rd., Houston, Texas 77021.
“Today, Labor Day, we celebrate the laborers who built our country, and today we ask that you understand the importance of helping the children of Palestine grow up to build theirs. End the occupation,” said Buthayna Hammad of Houstonians for Peace.
