MYLS teaches young people leadership, service and activism skills by combining lectures with workshops in an Islamic atmosphere. Topics for this year are to include community coalition building, engaging elected officials, grassroots advocacy, public speaking, and media engagement. The program will end with performances from program participants.
This year’s keynote speaker is Farris Barakat. He will address ways you can give back to your community and share how he is carrying on the legacy of his family Deah, Yusor, and Razan (#OurThreeWinners) through The Light House Project.
The registration fee is $25, which includes the full-day program, lunch and dinner. Meals are halal.
