Advancing Justice, Challenging Hate is both our banquet’s theme and the key to our mission.
The theme reflects what CAIR strives to do every day; our work becomes more and more important as bias crimes and anti-Islam rhetoric grow.
Please join us for dinner and a program celebrating CAIR Houston’s successes and plans for the future.
We are delighted to have Dean Obeidallah as our keynote speaker. An award-winning comedian who was at one time a practicing attorney, he is the host of The Dean Obeidallah show on SiriusXM radio. He can be seen frequently on cable TV shows such as Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show, CNN and MSNBC. Dean co-directed and co-produced the award-winning documentary “The Muslims Are Coming!” featuring a tour of American-Muslim comedians performing free comedy shows across the heartland of America in the hopes of using comedy to foster understanding and dispel misconceptions about Muslims. Dean is a columnist for The Daily Beast and writes frequently for CNN.com as well as other publications, and Tweets a daily stream of insightful and entertaining comments on the state of today’s political and social climate.
Corey Saylor, CAIR national’s Director, Department to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia, will discuss Islamophobia and the fight against hate.
Tickets are $75 per person. Child care will be provided. Please contact 713-397-9994 or rnasrullah@cair.com for more information.
Join us. Advance justice. Challenge hate. Together we can do it.
