CAIR-Texas Joins Other Muslim Groups in Release of Joint Statement on Rising Hate, Announce Virtual Panel ‘United Against Hate: Protecting Texas Communities’

Aug 29, 2025 | HTX Press Releases

More than two dozen organizations — representing nearly one million Muslims across the state — have issued a joint statement to state leaders condemning the rise of anti-Muslim hate, bigoted rhetoric, and fearmongering across the state.

The letter emphasizes that Texas Muslims are integral to the fabric of the state, contributing to education, healthcare, technology, law, agriculture, energy, and more, while calling on leaders to uphold justice, accountability, and dignity for all Texans.

“For decades, the Muslim community in Texas has worked to build civic engagement, driven by the belief that we as Texans together can champion justice and democracy. We will not remain silent while our faith and identity are used for political gain,” the statement reads.

The coalition calls on state leaders to:

  • Publicly and unequivocally condemn all bigoted rhetoric against all faiths, ethnicities and races.
  • Hold individuals accountable – including state leaders and party officials – in upholding our shared values.
  • Recognize that silence in the face of adversity is complicity.
