CAIR-Houston Welcomes Houston ISD’s Commitment to Ensuring Safety of Afghan Students Following Attack

The Houston office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Houston) today welcomed Houston Independent School District’s response and willingness to meet with CAIR-Houston and the Patoli Law Firm to address the alleged March 3 attack against three Afghan girls at Paul Revere Middle School.
“We appreciate HISD’s commitment to working collaboratively toward a resolution,” said William White, Director of CAIR-Houston. “We look forward to constructive dialogue with the district as we advocate for the safety and well-being of all three girls who were targeted in this violent attack and for long-term measures that protect all Muslim students across the district.”
CAIR-Houston remains in close communication with the affected families and legal representatives and will continue to support their needs as they seek justice, healing, and a safe educational environment.
“We believe this is a critical opportunity for HISD to demonstrate its dedication to student safety, accountability, and inclusivity,” White added. “We’re hopeful this process will lead to those desired outcomes.”
CAIR-Houston will continue to monitor developments and engage with HISD leadership to ensure appropriate action is taken.
