CAIR-Houston to Join Nov. 3 Press Conference on Maersk & Port of Houston’s Role in Gaza Genocide

On Monday, November 3 (9:30 a.m.), the Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Houston) will join a press conference and community rally outside the Hilton Americas-Houston (1600 Lamar St.) to call attention to Maersk and the Port of Houston’s role in facilitating military shipments used in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
The event, organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement, will feature legal experts, faith leaders, and community organizers presenting findings on violations of international law and corporate complicity in the ongoing assault on Gaza.

“We cannot allow Houston’s infrastructure to be used in the service of genocide,” said Imran Ghani, Director of CAIR-Houston. “It’s time to redirect U.S. funding away from weapons manufacturing and foreign wars, and back toward strengthening our own communities—toward SNAP benefits, healthcare, schools, and rebuilding our highways.”
CAIR-Houston urges media, community members, and public officials to attend and support efforts for transparency, solidarity, justice, and an end to U.S. complicity in war crimes.
