CAIR-Houston Encourages Community to Attend Funeral Services for Pakistani Exchange Student Slain in School Shooting

 

(HOUSTON, TEXAS, 5/20/18) — The Houston office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Houston) is urging community members to attend funeral services today for Sabika Sheikh, an exchange student from Pakistan who was slain in the Santa Fe High School shooting on Friday morning.

Funeral prayers for Sheikh will be held today at 2 p.m. today at the ISGH Brand Lane Islamic Center, 610 Brand Ln, Stafford TX, 77477. There will also be a candlelight vigil for Sheikh and the other victims in Sugar Land Town Square in the evening. (15958 City Walk, Sugar Land TX, 77479, 9 p.m.)
CAIR-Houston is encouraging community members to donate blood to the victims through the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
CAIR-Houston will also participate in Wear Orange: Family Day in the Park, in partnership with Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense in America, on June 2 in Finnigan Park at 9 a.m. At that event, bystander training information and signup for community workshops will be provided by CAIR-Houston Attorney Arsalan Safiullah.
