Imam Khalid Latif is the University Chaplain for New York University and Executive Director of the Islamic Center at NYU. He was appointed the first Muslim chaplain at NYU in 2005. Under his leadership, the Islamic Center at NYU became the first ever established Muslim student center at an institution of higher education in the United States.
He has been featured in numerous media outlets including the Huffington Post, BBC, NPR, CNN, the New York Times, New York Magazine, The Colbert Report, Katie Couric, Newsweek, Time, BET and GEO TV. He has been named a Global Interfaith Visionary by the United Nations Temple of Understanding (2010), and more.
Bahia Amawi, a children’s speech pathologist, has worked for the last 10 years with developmentally disabled, autistic, and speech-impaired elementary school students in Austin, Texas. With the exception of one year where she was told that she could not return to work with the district after refusing to sign an oath vowing that she “does not” and “will not” engage in a boycott of Israel or “otherwise tak[e] any action that is intended to inflict economic harm” on that foreign nation. She knew her rights were infringed upon and courageously challenged the federal court to defend her First Amendment right of free speech with CAIR’s support.
Rabeea Collier serves as Judge of the 113th Civil District Court of Harris County. She is a graduate of Kingwood High School in Houston, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.
